Sourced by us, this olive oil is produced on the beautiful island of Crete this single estate olive oil has been produced by the same family for generations. Produced using organic and sustainable means, the olive oil is made using millstones and presses, which offers maximum nutritive benefits and a distinctive mild sweetness. At Biolea they pride themselves in the careful and simple cultivation, harvesting and production practices used to produce olive oil with the least amount of processing and damage to the flavour, aromas and health benefits the olive fruit has to offer. As a result, Biolea olive oil has a high concentration of antioxidants and health benefits, up to seven times more total polyphenols than the average olive oil. In accordance to European Union regulation 432/2012, the hydroxytyrosol derivatives that Biolea has, are over 5mg/20gr olive oil. A daily consumption of 20gr of Biolea protects the blood lipids from oxidative stress.   Not only does Biloea produce a traditional olive oil, they also make two fantastic flavoured oils. The organic fruits are added to the olives when they are being pressed, which enhances the flavour and makes an exceptional addition to many dishes. Orange- Koroneiki olives harvested from Astrikas Estate olive groves, stone milled and cold pressed with fresh whole bitter oranges (nerantzi), create an exotic tasting olive oil with an unmistakable punch full of orange blossoms and the tingle of orange rind. Fantastic over salad, chicken and with bread. Lemon- Koroneiki olives harvested from Astrikas Estate olive groves, stone milled and cold pressed with fresh, whole, organic lemons.
